The US economy grew by 0.4% in the fourth quarter of 2012 compared to same quarter last year which came as better than expected earlier. Earlier the growth was estimated to be just 0.1%.

In spite of better than expected GDP growth, the US economic growth continues to be fragile till 2012. There are some good signs in the current quarter in terms of rising home sales and improving job market with lower unemployment rate which increases optimism about stronger economic recovery in the current year.
