Other News Headlines – 31 October, 2011

1. Australian national carrier Qantas resumed operations today after 44-hour long strike by the workers’ union. There has been some issue with the union which has led to the current strike and left thousands of its passengers suffered.

2. The Rath Yatra of senior BJP leader L K Advani enters Karnataka but Yeddyurappa loyalists BJP leaders of Karnataka have boycotted his Yatra because of Advani’s earlier attack to Yeddyurappa over corruption issue.

3. Palestine has become a full member of UNESCO today after the UN cultural organization has voted in favor of its membership. This move was opposed by Israel and United States of America. USA has also threatened to withdraw its funding to UNESCO which is around 22% of its total budgets.
