1. US jobless claims was decreased by 2,000 to 402,000 for the week ended October 22, as per the Labor Department. This is definitely a good news for US which has been struggling with very high unemployment rate of 9.1% since long.

2. Olympus Chairman Tsuyoshi Kikukawa has resigned just two weeks after its former chief executive; Michael Woodford was sacked amid increasing investors’ concern over several acquisitions. At the same time, Olympus has defended these four acquisitions which have created huge controversies.
