Lok Sobha passed Lokpal Bill Anna Hazare ends fast but to continue with his

Indian Parliament has passed the Lokpal Bill yesterday by voice votes after amendments but failed to give it a constitutional status as suggested by Congress MP Rahul Gandhi. Also as per the amendments, setting up Lokayuktas by the states would not be mandatory. The bill will now be placed in the Rajya Sobha for final approval tomorrow where it will be tested again.

Social Activist Anna Hazare who has been fighting for a strong Lokpal Bill since earlier this year was disappointed with this move and has ended his fast today in Mumbai. Also his continuously deteriorating health was a concern for Team Anna and all of his supporters. He has also deferred his -Jail Bhoro- agitation for indefinite time due to Government-s forceful voting in the Parliament.

He also said to go to five poll bound states to educate people and appeal to them for not voting in favor of the MPs who has passed the weak Lokpal Bill in the parliament.
