1. The 42-day long Telengana strike by the Government staff is expected to be lifted soon as the representatives of Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC)is  holding final talks with the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister. The 42-day long strike had almost paralyzed the region with all the government offices and educational institutions were closed for the entire period.

2. More than 270 persons were confirmed to be killed in the Earthquake in eastern Turkey region. The number is expected to rise with the rescue operations as lots of people are still missing in the debris of the collapsed buildings.

3. India has been elected among the 21 countries to serve on the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). The Economic and Social Council is one of the six principal organs of the UN, responsible to improve economic and social cooperation among the countries and worldwide development.
