1. The Bank of England cut interest rates for the first time since 2009 today by 25 bps to all-time low of 0.25% and announced its plan to buy 60 billion pounds of government debt in order to ease after affect following Brexit vote. The central bank said it expected the economy to stagnate for the rest of 2016 and suffer weak growth throughout next year with growth forecast of 0.8% in 2017. It has projected higher inflation for current and next year due to lower pound.

2. American ice hockey Olympic champion Angela Ruggiero has been elected as the new chair of the International Olympic Committee (IOC)-s Athletes- Commission. Ruggiero will replace Claudia Bokel.
