1. Spanish football club Real Madrid won its 11th European Champion title after defeating another Spanish club rivals Atletico Madrid through a penalty shoot-out after a 1-1 draw in the final match. Its striker Cristiano Ronaldo scored the winning penalty in a 5-3 shootout victory against Atletico Madrid.


2. Lewis Hamilton won the Monaco Formula One Grand Prix held this Sunday. Australian Daniel Ricciardo finished second for Red Bull while Mexican Sergio Perez of Force India team finished third in the race. With this, Force India finished in top three for the first time in Formula one championship.


3. England cricket team captain Alastair Cook has become the youngest ever batsman (31 years 5 months old) to cross 10,000 runs in Test cricket and also become the 12th man to join the elite 10,000-run club in Test cricket during second test against Sri Lanka. He broke the record of Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar who scored 10,000 runs at the age of 31 years and 10 months.
