1. International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women was observed on 25th November across the world to raise awareness about violence against women and discuss solutions that would work for women community. The event is being organized under the UN Secretary General-s Campaign called UNiTE to End Violence against Women.


2. Dominica-born British lawyer Patricia Scotland has been appointed as the Secretary General of the Commonwealth of Nations. With this, Patricia become the first woman to hold the role in the 66-year history of 53-member Commonwealth. She succeeds India's Kamalesh Sharma.


3. First day-night Test has been started between Australia and New Zealand this week at the Adelaide Oval with a pink Kookaburra ball. This is a first time a test match is being played with the ball and in day-night format in last 138 years.
