1. International Day of Forests, also known as World Forestry Day is observed today (21st March) across the world in order to raise awareness and importance of Forest to balance natural life on the face of earth. The theme of the 2016 International Day of Forests is -forests and water-.

The World Forestry Day was established at the 23rd General Assembly of European Confederation of Agriculture in 1971 it was established by a resolution of the United Nations General Assembly in November 2012.

2. The United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki Moon has appointed Red, the leader of the -Angry Birds- mobile game characters as brand ambassador for climate change. This was done as a part of a UN campaign launched in partnership with the globally renowned characters to make a direct link between tackling climate change and people's happiness.

3. The US President Barack Obama has named the General Lori Robinson to head the U.S. combatant command, becomes the first woman to head this position. Once approved by the Senate, US Air Force General Lori Robinson will be the new North com chief and will be responsible for any missile threats against the homeland. Currently she leads US air forces in the Pacific Air Forces (PACAF) and Executive Director of Pacific Air Combat Operations Staff since 2014.

4. FC Barcelona-s and Argentina striker Lionel Messi has been named as global ambassador of Chinese Networking and mobile giant Huawei. He was chosen as the company believes that he and Huawai make "a perfect fit" as both "are always pursuing not success but challenges to be better".

5. Bangladesh left-arm spinner Arafat Sunny and pacer Taskin Ahmed have been suspended from bowling with immediate effect by ICC after an independent assessment found their bowling actions to be illegal. Both the bowlers underwent assessments in Chennai last week after being reported with suspected bowling action during first round match against Netherlands earlier this month.
