1. World Health Organisation (WHO) has declared Public Health Emergency of International Concern over the explosive spread of the Zika virus in mainly Latin America. This Zika virus is linked to birth defects in the Americas. The UN health agency organized an emergency meeting of independent experts in Geneva to assess the outbreak of the virus.

2. Google's holding company Alphabet overtook apple to become the most valued publicly traded company in the world. Alphabet's market capitalization jumped to USD 570 billion compared to Apple-s market capitalization of USD 534 billion.
