1. Australia will get its fifth prime minister in eight years after the ruling Liberal Party voted out Tony Abbott in favour of long-time rival Malcolm Turnbull today. Malcolm Turnbull won a secret party vote by 54 to 44 to become the next Prime Minister of Australia.

2. Top seeded Novak Djokovic won his third Grand Slam title of 2015 and 10th career Grand Slam when he defeated Roger Federer by a 6-4, 5-7, 6-4, 6-4 in the US Open final of Men-s singles title. The defeat shattered 34-year-old Federer-s bid to become the oldest US Open champion in 45 years.
