1. The World Health Organisation (WHO) announced that the Ebola epidemic that has affected 3 nations in West Africa for two years was over. The World Health Organisation declares the end of the most recent outbreak of Ebola virus disease in Liberia and said all known chains of transmission have been stopped in West Africa. Ebola killed more than 11,000 people across West Africa after it surfaced in southern Guinea in December 2013.


2. British footballer David Beckham was presented with the Danny Kaye Humanitarian Leadership Award at the sixth biennial UNICEF Ball in Los Angeles by Sir Elton John and David Furnish for his work to save and improve the lives of children around the world. He has also been a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador since 2005.


3. FIFA has dismissed Secretary General Jerome Valcke who was provisionally suspended from football for his alleged involvement to make profit from the sale of World Cup tickets which was a breach of Fifa ethics code. Fifa's ethics committee has already recommended to ban from all footballing activities for nine years.
