1. Ride-hailing firm Uber announced merger of its China operations with bigger rival Didi Chuxing in a USD 35 billion deal to end competition between the two entities. The new entity combines Didi's most recent valuation of USD 28 billion and Uber China's USD 7 billion valuation for the USD 35 billion market capitalisation. Post the deal, Uber China investors will have a 20% in the combined entity.

2. Skydiver Luke Aikins created Guinness world record after becoming the first person to jump from a height of 25,000 feet without a parachute, landing in a net in southern California.

3. Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton won the 2016 German Grand Prix Formula One title held this Sunday. It was his fourth consecutive win in the 2016 season and overall fifth title of the 2016 season. Red Bull-s Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen secured second and third place respectively in the same race.
