1. India's latest communication satellite GSAT-18 was successfully launched today morning on board 'Ariane-5 VA231' rocket from Kouru in French Guiana. The satellite aims to provide telecommunications services for the country by increasing ISRO's current fleet of 14 operational telecommunication satellites.

2. Union Finance Ministry has constituted a Public Debt Management Cell (PDMC) to streamline government borrowings and better cash management with the overall objective of deepening bond markets.

3. Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation has constituted a high level technical team headed by Chairman, Central Water Commission GS Jha to visit the Cauvery basin area to assess the ground realities in the basin.

4. Social networking site Facebook has collaborated with the Election Commission of India in five states to run a voter registration drive aimed at encouraging youth to participate in the democratic exercise.

5. Jammu and Kashmir Bank has appointed Parvez Ahmed as Chairman and CEO of the bank.

6. Paytm has appointed former Citigroup banker Madhur Deora as CFO and Senior Vice President.
