1. The central government has filed a complaint with the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) charging Nestle for unfair trade practices in the sale of Maggie noodles which contains more than normal level of lead. The Food and Safety Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has taken samples of Maggi noodles from different states for testing and found it unsafe for consumption due to higher portion of lead content.


2. Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje flagged off the inaugural run of Jaipur Metro Train on 9.6 km long route from Mansarovar to Chandpole. With this, Jaipur Metro was formally thrown open to public.


3. India-s rank in FIFA ranking jumped by six places to 141st position in the latest rankings released by world football-s governing body FIFA compared to earlier rank of 147th. Iran is the top-ranked Asian team with rank 41st followed by Japan (52nd) and South Korea (58th) in the same ranking list.


World Champions Germany continued to head the rankings followed by Belgium and World Cup runners-up Argentina. They are followed by Columbia, Brazil, the Netherlands, Portugal, Uruguay and France in the same order.
