1. Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief Mamata Banerjee has taken oath as the Chief Minister of West Bengal for the second consecutive five-year term this week as she was administer oath by West Bengal Governor Keshri Nath Tripathi. Also 42 ministers have taken oath along with her.


2. India has been ranked at 5th place in terms of Clean energy job creation list as per annual review published by the International Renewable Energy Agency (Irena) this week. China has been ranked at No 1 position followed by Brazil and the USA.


3. The Reserve Bank of India has formed a seven-member committee headed by Neeraj Kumar Gupta to reduce cash transactions. This panel will check for different ways to increase the acceptance of card payments.


4. Founder and chairman of Bharti Enterprises, Mr. Sunil Bharti Mittal has been awarded with this year-s Harvard Business School Alumni Achievement Award, which has been presented annually since 1968. It is the highest honour to its alumni who have contributed significantly to their companies and communities while upholding the highest standards and values.


5. Sunrisers Hyderabad led by David Warner won their Maiden IPL title today after defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore by 8 runs in a closely fought final match held in Bangalore. Sunrisers Hyderabad scored 208 runs in 20 overs while batting first. Royal Challengers Bangalore was able to score only 200 in 20 overs even after great start by its openers Chris Gayle and Virat Kohli.


Virat Kohli won the Orange cup for scoring 973 runs in the IPL season including 4 centuries and 7 half centuries.
