This is a submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM) which can be fired from a submarine if required. It was developed by DRDO's Hyderabad-based Defence Research and Development Laboratory (DRDL) and this will put India in the league of some selected countries including US, France, Russia and China who have this capability.

2. Tamil Nadu-s renowned playback singer Sreeramamurthy Janaki has refused to accept the Padma Bhushan award. She refused the award on the grounds that only some people from the Southern states were awarded in this year and she thinks the honour given to her came too late as she deserved this honour much earlier. She had won four national awards earlier as well.
