1. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched -Kisan TV- only for the farmers at a function held in Vigyan Bhawan. He also stressed on the need for improving farmers- condition in the country and said if country wants to progress, the elevation of villages and farmers is the stepping stone.


In his Union Budget 2014 speech, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had announced that a 24-hour TV channel will be dedicated to the agriculture sector, for which he had allocated Rs. 100 crore.


2. Social media giant Facebook has gathered 8 lakh users in India for its Internet.org initiative. Facebook had partnered telecom company Reliance Communications to offer free access to over 30 websites without data charges to users in India.


Internet.org service is available for Reliance customers in seven telecom circles of Mumbai, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Chennai, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.


3. Indian filmmaker Neeraj Ghaywan's, 'Masaan' has bagged the international federation of film critics (Fipresci) award at the 68th Cannes International film festival. The film was screened in the Uncertain Regard section, the film received a standing ovation at the end of its screening.


4. Mumbai Indians defeated Chennai Super Kings by 41 runs in the final to win the Indian Premier League 2015. This is Mumbai Indian-s second IPL title win after their first win in 2013. Rohit Sharma was awarded with Man of the Match Award while Andre Russell of KKR was awarded with the Player of the Tournament award.
