1. Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) has named newly joined and first woman IPS Kiran Bedi as its Chief Ministerial candidate for the Delhi Assembly elections to be held on 7th February. She will contest from the Krishna Nagar seat in East Delhi.

This will make Delhi assembly election more interesting as two former anti-corruption campaigners will compete with each other for the Chief Minister Post in Delhi. Earlier both Kiran Bedi and Arvind Kejriwal fought together along with Anna Hazare for the Lokpal bill during previous UPA regime.

2. Axis Bank board reappointed Shikha Sharma as the bank's managing director and chief executive officer (MD and CEO) for a three-year period today. She had joined the bank in 2009 from ICICI Bank and is set to complete a second three year term in May.

3. Indian Tier-II IT Services Company, Mindtree has announced the acquisition of US-based Discoverture Solutions for USD 15 million during its quarterly result announcement today. This acquisition will help Mindtree to expand its presence in Insurance sector.
