1. India-s indigenously developed Beyond Visual Range (BVR) air-to-air missile Astra was successfully tested from a Sukhoi-30 fighter aircraft at the Integrated Test Range located at Chandipur in Odisha. All the necessary subsystems of the missile including propulsion, navigation, guidance and separation from the aircraft were also successfully tested.

2. Famous Indian businessperson and Tata Group's Chairman Emeritus, Ratan Tata has been appointed as the head of Indian Railways Innovative Council called 'Kaya Kalp'. The Council has been constituted to turn around the rail network. Apart from him, the Kaya Kalp Council will also have two railway union leaders Shiv Gopal Mishra and M Raghuvaiah.

3. India defeated Bangladesh by 109 runs in the second quarter final match today to enter into the semis of ICC Cricket World Cup 2015. With this India has also continued its unbeaten march in the world cup. While batting first, India scored 302 runs in 50 overs. Rohit Sharma scored 137 and Raina scored 65 runs to build Innings for India. Bangladesh was all out for 193 runs.
