1. Hindi Divas is celebrated today (14th September) across the nation. Constituent Assembly of the country adopted the Hindi language as the official language of the Republic of India on the same day in 1949.


2. Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Jyoti Prasad Rajkhowa was removed from the post of Arunachal Pradesh Governor. The V. Shanmuganathan, Governor of Meghalaya has been given the charge of Arunachal Pradesh by President Pranab Mukherjee.


3. BJP leader Subramanian Swamy has been honoured with -Tamil Ratna- award by a body of Tamil diaspora in New York for fighting corruption and working for more transparency in the functioning of the government.


4. Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra has featured in 'The New Royals' list of American fashion magazine 'W'. The actress was also featured on the cover of the magazine.


5. Writer Meghna Pant will be awarded with Kumaon Literary Festival's FON (Fellows of Nature) South AsiaShort Story Award in Nature writing for her short story "People of the Sun.
