1. The Supreme Court has lifted its longtime ban on fresh registration of diesel cars and SUVs above 2000 CC engine capacity in Delhi and the National Capital Region today on the condition that manufacturers and dealers pay to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) 1% of the showroom price of each car as environmental compensation charge (ECC) at the time of purchase. This is a big sigh of relief for these Luxury car and SUV maker.

2. Wipro Chairman Azim Premji and HCL co-founder Shiv Nadar from India have been placed in Forbes' list of the world's 100 richest people in technology - the '100 Richest Tech Billionaires In The World 2016' list. Azim Premji has been ranked at 13th place while Shiv Nadar has been ranked at 17th place in the same list. Microsoft founder Bill Gates has been ranked at No 1 in the list.

3. Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) has formed a new committee, headed by Mr. Gopal Mukherjee to review the existing media policy for communicating the activities of the board and the income tax department to the public.

4. Microsoft has appointed Sriram Rajamani as new managing director of its India lab. He will replace Chandu Thekkath, who was the managing director of the lab for two years.
