1. India-s Industrial production measured by Index of Industrial production (IIP) grew by 2% in February compared to same month last year after contracting for three straight months. IIP contracted by 1.5% in January this year, and grew by 4.8% in February last year.The output of consumer durable goods grew 9.7%, manufacturing sector output grew 0.7%, mining output grew by 5% and power generation grew by 9.6% in the same month.


2. India-s Retail inflation, measured by Consumer price index, dropped to six month low of 4.83% in March due to cheaper food articles such as vegetables and pulses. The retail inflation was revised upwards to 5.26% from 5.18% in February. Food inflation for March also dropped to 5.21% compared to 5.30% in February. The Retail inflation stood at 5.7% in rural areas and stood at 3.95% in urban areas.


3. Mobile handset manufacturer Lava International has appointed Indian ODI and T20 Cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni as its new brand ambassador to boost its brand presence within India. As per the company, MS Dhoni will help to strengthens its services to offer trusted and reliable products and services to all our consumers at all times. 


4. Premier Futsal is the newer and shorter five-a-side variant of soccer has named the Virat Kohli as its brand ambassador for the world's first multinational Futsal league which will be held across eight Indian cities from in July this year. Earlier Football legend and former Portugal team captain Luis Figo was named as the Premier Futsal's president last week. Nearly 50 international futsalers, from 4 continents and 21 countries are expected to participate in the game. 


5. India's men's and women's teams won both the category-s championship titles at the third Asian Kho-Kho championship held in Indore. Both the teams defeated Bangladesh in the final match to with the titles. Sarika Kale was awarded with te women-s match-winner title, Aniket Pote won the same in men-s category.
