1. The Central Government has constituted an expert committee of four members headed by Member of Ganga Flood Control commission A .K. Sinha to study the silt in the Ganges river. Other members are Chief Engineer of Central Water Commission S.K.Sahu, Prof. of IIT, A.K. Gosain and members of National Disaster Management Authority Dr. Rajnish Ranjan.


2. Madhukar Gupta committee, formed to review security at India-Pakistan border, t submitted its report to Home Minister Rajnath Singh.


3. The Energy and Resources Institute (Teri) has appointed former Finance Secretary Ashok Chawla as the new Chancellor of Teri university.


4. India's Sand artist Sudarsan Pattnaik won the people's choice prize for his sand sculpture titled "Mahatma Gandhi - World Peace" at the ninth Moscow Sand Sculpture Championship 2016.
