1. World Asthma Day is observed toady (5th May) across the world by the Global Initiative for Asthma, GINA. The theme for 2015 is -You Can Control Your Asthma-. According to the World Health Organisation (WHO) there are about 300 million people suffering from asthma across the globe.

2. World Press Freedom Day was observed on 3rd May across the world to raise awareness about freedom of the press and freedom of expression are fundamental human rights. The theme of World Press Freedom day of year 2015 is -Let Journalism Thrive! Towards better reporting, gender equality and media safety in the digital age-.

World Press Freedom Day on 3rd May was proclaimed by the UN General Assembly in December 1993, following the recommendation of UNESCO's General Conference in 1991.

3. Famous Spanish tennis player Rafael Nadal received the Golden Medal for Merit in Work which is one of the top civilian honours of Spain. Nadal received the honour from the Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy Brey at the PM-s official residence in Madrid.

4. English football club Chelsea won the Barclays Premier League 2014-15 football title after defeating Crystal Palace 1-0 in the final match held at Stamford Bridge in London. This is their first premier title after winning it last time in 2009-10 season.
