1. Yesterday (29th September) was celebrated as the World Heart Day across the world. This year-s theme addresses the importance of a life-course approach to the prevention and control of cardiovascular disease (CVD) with a focus on women and children. World Heart Day is observed every year on the last Sunday in September which is organized by the World Heart Federation and has been celebrated annually since 1999.

2. Eurozone inflation dropped to its lowest rate in more than three years. Consumer price inflation dropped to an annual rate of 1.1% in September compared to 1.3% in August due to drop in energy prices, as per Europe's statistics agency Eurostat. Steep drop in inflation numbers will give more room to the European Central Bank (ECB) to cut rates in order to boost economic growth in the region.
