Current Affairs Global - 30 November 2014

1. European Union lawmakers voted in favor of a motion urging anti-trust regulators to break up Google this week. Global tech giant has been in the radar of European Union-s regulators due to different privacy issues, copyright and tax related issues. The non-binding resolution is also the strongest motion passed in the European Parliament related to Europe's concern with the growing power of US tech giants.

2. Crude Oil prices dropped to four-year low as the OPEC decided not to cut crude oil output by its member countries. Brent crude oil price touched four-year low price of USD 71.12 a barrel this week. The price was dropped by around USD 5 per barrel after OPEC took the decision not to cut price.

3. The euro zone inflation rate dropped to 0.3% in November compared to 0.4% in October which increases possibility of deflation across the 18-member region. Now ECB has to take actions including fresh round of quantitative easing in order to boost growth and demand to avoid deflation.
