1. Justice Rana Bhagwandas, the first Hindu chief justice of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, passed away in Karachi on 23rd February. He was 72. He was the first Hindu and second non-Muslim to head the Supreme Court of Pakistan in 2005-2006 during the absence of the then Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry.


2. Takahiro Hachigo has been appointed as the President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Japanese auto giant Honda Motor Co. Limited. He will take charge in June this year and he succeeds Takanobu Ito, who had resigned from his post on 23rd February 2015. Before this appointment, he was Managing Officer of Honda Motor Co. Limited.


3. West Indies opener Chris Gayle became the first batsman to score a double century in a World Cup innings when he scored 215 runs while playing against Zimbabwe in a Pool B group match today. He also scored the fastest double century as he took 138 balls to reach his 200 runs, breaking previous record of Virender Sehwag who took 140 balls to score double century.


It was also the fifth double century in all ODI cricket with Rohit Sharma scored 2, Sachin Tendulkar scored 1 and Virender Sehwag scored 1 double century earlier. Sachin Tendulkar scored the first double century in ODIs in 2010.
