1. World Heritage Day was observed across the world on 18th April to create awareness among the people to conserve and protect the valuable assets and cultural heritage across the world.

The first world Heritage Day was celebrated on 18 April 1982 by the International Council on Monuments and Sites (ICOMOS) in Tunisia and was approved by UNESCO in 1983.

2. China's economic growth slowed to 7% in the first quarter of 2015 compared to same quarter last year. This GDP growth rate was lower compared to 7.3% growth witnessed in the previous quarter and the lowest since global financial crisis 2009. Chinese economy grew by 7.4% in 2014.

China's central bank cut its bank reserve requirement ratio by one percentage point to boost growth. This move will allow banks to lend more money and stimulate the struggling economy.
