1. World Radio Day is observe today (13th February) across the world to celebrate radio as a medium for communication, entertainment and information for remote communities and its role in communicating and empowering people. It was proclaimed on 3 November 2011 byUNESCO's 36th General Conference. It was originally proposed by theKingdom of Spain.

Theme of World Radio day 2015 is 'Youth and Radio' and how young people can be better represented through the most powerful medium. Radio is also considered to be the most accessible and powerful medium even during the most disadvantaged groups and remote areas.

2. The eurozone economy grew by more-than-expected 0.3% in the last quarter (September to December) of the previous year 2014. GDP growth stood at 0.9% for the entire euro zone region in year 2014.

Germany's economy, the largest in the Eurozone, grew by 0.7% while France grew by just 0.1% in the same quarter. Three economies contracted in the same period which are Greece, Finland and Cyprus.

3. US Tech giant Apple Inc. became the first company in the world to reach a market value of USD 700 billion as its share price touched record high value on US stock exchanges. With its USD 710 billion market capitalization Apple has now extended his lead over number two company, oil giant Exxon Mobil, which has market capitalization of USD 382 billion. Apple is also having almost double market value compared to other tech giants including Microsoft, Google, IBM, Oracle etc.
