Chinese GDP grew by 7.6% in the second quarter of the current year due to lower export demand and lower economic activity. This is marginally lower than the previous quarter GDP growth of 8.1%. This is the sixth straight drop in the GDP growth and lower quarterly growth in last 3 years which indicates deep economic slowdown.

This lower GDP growth confirms slowdown in overall manufacturing and economic activity. Chinese government has also cut rates twice in last 2 months in order to boost economic and industrial activity. Chinese GDP grew by 9.2% in 2011 and 10.4% in 2010.
