Another CAG report shocked the UPA Government loss to the tune of Rs 10.67

Looks like, UPA government is not going to see any end in corruption cases. The CAG (Comptroller and Auditor General) who has first unfold the 2G scam has come back with another report to create more worries for the UPA government. As per its latest report, the Indian Government has lost Rs 10.67 lakh crores by not auctioning coal blocks between 2004 and 2009. This loss is 6 times higher than the combined loss of 2G scam.

According to the media report, 155 coal blocks were given to different commercial entities without auction between 2004 and 2009 which has caused the massive loss to the government. The beneficiaries of this include nearly 100 private companies and some public sector units in industries such as power, steel and cement. They have made huge profits by acquiring coal blocks through direct routes.

There have been huge protests by the opposition parties in the parliament following this report. Government has told the protesting parties that this is just a draft version and needs further review. But looks like, CAG is back to give government more trouble before the next Lok Sabha election.
